Coquito, Pasteles, Tembleque is a collaboration with Vejigante Mask artist Alli Arocho. We created these bundles thinking of the Three Kings Day tradition held in Puerto Rico and blended the three majestic symbols with vejigante masks and macramé. It is said that these three figures wander around the whole island on their horses and leave gifts for all the night before January 6th. Children usually leave grass and water out for their horses. It’s a lovely tradition to grow up with and it helps to extend the holiday season in Puerto Rico until mid-January.
